Rodney C. Adams
Rodney Adams joined the Rotary Club of Arlington Heights Sunrise in 2004, and served as its President during Rotary Year 2009-10. As the result of a merger, Rodney joined The Rotary Club of Mount Prospect/Prospect Heights, so that his home club would include both his residence and his business.
Other club offices have included Vice-President, Club Service Chair, and Membership Chair. He's been recognized by his club as Rotarian of the Year, is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of the RI-711 Club.
Rodney, who is a native of Berwyn, Illinois has been involved in District 6440 since 2010. He served three years as an AG, and during his three years in that capacity, worked at various times with Schaumburg AM, North Chicago, Lake Forest/Lake Bluff, Mt. Prospect/Prospect Heights, and Arlington Heights Noon. He has also served 6440 as Membership Co-Chair, Membership Chair, Visioning Team Member, and is currently the District Governor Nominee (DGN), responsible for Youth Services, and Chair of The Membership Task Force. Among his accomplishments are making 6440 the first District to have 100% integration between ClubRunner and R.I., the updating of the District's data bases, and the development of a Youth Service team.
He's attended 5 R.I. Conventions, the Central States Youth Exchange Summer Conference, is on The Midwest PETS Steering Committee, and has been a frequent speaker at numerous Rotary Clubs.
His working life started in The United States Army, where he was a member of the Military Police. His postings included Fort Carson CO, and Augsburg, Germany. Following his Honorable Discharge, he moved to California, where he attended college. He was then hired by The IRS (Special Procedures Staff) Technical. The expertise he gained there in data collection has been well utilized by 6440.
Missing Chicago, and wanting to work in private industry, Rodney returned to Chicago and opened Benjamin's Restaurant in Naperville in 1984. Shortly after that, he met Wendy Morgan, who was then developing her law practice. After starting their family, Rodney sold the restaurant and became the Administrator of The Law Firm of Wendy R. Morgan LTD.
